USPS Schedule Changes Cause Delivery Delays for Some Policy Subscribers

VERSAILLES — The Versailles Policy is aware of recent delivery delays affecting some subscribers outside of Versailles and is working with the U.S. Postal Service and its printing company to address the issue.

It has come to our attention that the Postal Service has changed transportation schedules beginning Sept. 19, and those changes have resulted in delays. Mail now leaves the building the following morning. No more afternoon dispatches.

The Policy has also heard from several subscribers outside of Versailles who received a recent edition as much as a week later than expected. At this time, The Versailles Policy is not aware of subscribers within Versailles experiencing the same delivery problems.

“We are aware of the situation and appreciate all subscribers who have called in to inform us of missing or delayed deliveries,” Versailles Policy Owner and Publisher JD Nye said. “To our knowledge, no one within Versailles has been impacted. We are actively working with our printing company and the USPS to find a solution for our subscribers in neighboring towns.”

While the delivery issues are being addressed, subscribers are reminded that digital access to The Versailles Policy is included with every subscription.

“We understand it’s not the same as holding your physical Policy in your hands, but digital access can be a good stopgap while these issues within the USPS are worked out,” Nye said. “We thank everyone for their continued patience and understanding.”

The Versailles Policy will continue to monitor the situation and work with its printing and postal partners as the new transportation schedule is implemented.
